Im posting this late since Daftmill is just now releasing their whisky. Francis hosted us for a wonderful tour a few years back. We emailed him in advance and he was a wonderful host. We were there for about an hour and got a complete tour of the distillery. Its small and family run and thats what makes it a special place. I cant wait to go back when they are selling the spirit.

Daftmill is a real farm distillery on the family's old farm, built and operated with passion. The whiskey, which was still young at the time, was already so super good that I have now and again taken a sample of the bottlings that are now available. And some time ago I treated myself to a bottle of the "Summer Release 2007" and I'm thrilled: this whiskey, expensive as it is, is worth every penny drop by drop! If you're in the north of Edinburgh area try to make an appointment with the Cuthberts and taste this divine whiskey - you'll never forget it! (Original) Wir durften die Destille 2015 besuchen und wurden von Francis Cuthbert sehr herzlich empfangen. Daftmill ist eine echte Farmdestille auf dem alten Bauernhof der Familie, mit Herzblut aufgebaut und betrieben. Der damals noch junge Whisky war bereits so abgehoben supergut, dass ich zwischenzeitlich immer mal wieder eine Probe der mittlerweile erhltlichen Abfllungen genommen habe. Und vor einiger Zeit habe ich mir eine Flasche des "Summer Release 2007" gegnnt und bin begeistert: Dieser Whisky, teuer wie er ist, ist Tropfen fr Tropfen jeden Cent wert! Wenn Ihr in der Gegend nrdlich von Edinburgh unterwegs seid: Versucht mit den Cuthberts einen Termin zu vereinbaren und dabei diesen gttlichen Whisky zu probieren - Ihr werdet ihn nie mehr vergessen!
