I'm just gonna get real for a minute ok... There was two of us and the dog... . We loved this place like it was our own home, (in our dreams btw because we couldn't afford the mortgage). If it was, however, our own, and renting it out, the things being replaced would be minor things, like the toaster and the toilet seat would be, for me, a given.. But we did manage toast and sat on the toilet no probs. The Fridge Freezer does need replaced for guests coming though, that I admit.. a super king-sized bed in the gorgeous main bedroom instead of a double would be good, but that's coz we're big folk.. And there is def8room for it.. But. the view from that bed drinking a hot coffee of a morning made up for it and to be honest I quite enjoyed the double bed (winking smiley face! What can I say I like cuddles in a very romantic setting) However, forget all that, because what was important to us was the outlook, which is phenomenal.. We stood on that beautuful balcony of a night listening to the Stags braying in the distance..and in the morning watched with glee from the kitchen window seat at the wild birds snaffling all the nuts and bird feed we'd bought .(with rolling hills AND A CASTLE in the background), we enjoyed naming each species of bird where we could...we were sure the red squirrels had been there too but we were so comfy in that double bed, we were never up early enough to catch them! Again, what was important to us was the warmth of the place, the feeling of home, the fabulous cooker in the warm kitchen where we made loads home cooked stuff, logs whenever we wanted them, and we did need them, a lot, coz the open fire was amazing, we aren't allowed one at home and it's a real treat.. After walking miles and miles up Munros ... Err in fact Ben Nevis itself... It was the HOT WATER which was important to us and provided endlessly with a CRACKING WATER PRESSURE for amazingly fabulously unending baths and showers with super thick gorgeous bath sheets. The walk to the several pubs in Aberfeldy was great because we felt safe, even walking back after one too many whiskeys..(they don't do taxis) but because of the paths there was never a worry and. The WiFi was super, the car was parked safely each night and the dog was in his element, secure and free the minute the gorgeous front door was opened. The road leading up is potholey of that there is no doubt ... Just take your time... Because guys.. For what you will pay... . It is SO WORTH IT.. One of our fave places of all time x
