We only came for dinner, we did not stay in the rooms here but the place and location is gorgeous. My partner and I have been lucky enough to travel to many countries and eat in some amazing places, but The Moor at Rannoch might be our new favourite restaurant (which was previously Poppy in Seattle WA, before it sadly closed). We booked dinner here for my partner's 40th and my gosh, everything was perfect. The location is incredible - views over the moor, deer and pheasants ambling up to the window infront which looks over the stunning Scottish sunsets. It feels you are dining at the end of the world, in a good way. Scott and Steph could not have been more welcoming without being intrusive or fussy. From the welcome drink (an incredible array of Scottish twists on classic cocktails, the Negroni was especially enjoyed) and starting 'nibbles', which were not even part of the official tasting menu, each element of the night was special. The meals are curated depending on what is in season and who is dining (requirements requested at booking) - I won't list each course but my absolute favourite was the roasted artichoke with truffle brie and black garlic (though a close second was the dessert: brown sugar ice cream with carmelised breadcrumbs and blackcurrant leaf cordial). I'm not a huge artichoke fan but this dish was the most delicious thing I have ever tasted. A huge shoutout to 'yesterday's taco' aswell - best taco I have eaten, with a sourdough twist, and it ensure food is not wasted. The atmosphere is lovely - fancy without being fussy (casual dress code, dogs welcome) and although each dish is served on beautiful and creative serving dishes, with a brief introduction to the flavours and inspiration, it did not feel pretentious at any point. If anything, the cost undersells how special this place really is. If you are considering booking, don't even hesitate - this is an extremely wonderful piece of Scottish culture, remote, wild and wonderful!

We really loved this place, right next to the tiny Rannoch station and the loch. This family run B&B is cosy, the hosts are friendly, the room was beautifully decorated, comfy beds, lovely breakfast, and unexpectedly tasty and well presented dishes for dinner. We enjoyed also drinking one of the many whiskeys in the conservatory and looking at deer, which is everywhere. Well definitely come back.
