Of all the places to visit in Scotland, this is my favourite. Most Scots are unaware of this delightfully holy place but it really is worth visiting. The peace and tranquility you find at the services in the Church is reflected in the surrounding countryside. Catholic or non Catholic or even non Christian there is something to be found in this place.

A calm quiet place to think. Terrific history and building. Amazing how the monks are rebuilding the ruined Abbey.

Simply stunning..a majestic 13th century Benedictine Monastery. A place for great reflection and spending quality one to one with god. The surrounding architecture is beautiful, telling a visual story of religious practice over the past 800 years. The gardens and lands are well kept and allow plenty of opportunity to walk around and take in the environment. Visitors can explore the inside of the abbey, again a stunning environment shrouded in religious beauty. The abbey offers Mass to the public and the opportunity to watch the monks participate in Georgian chat is unmissable. I would rate this visit well above 5 stars and a must!!
