I was invited to speak at a burns supper for Masons and their wives. I was performing The Reply to the Toast to the Lassies. I was made extremely welcome, enjoyed a full Burns Supper of Cock-a-leekie soup, haggis neeps n tatties, steak pie dinner and veg, bannocks and cheese, and coffee or tea. I sat at the top table with the Right Worshipful master, other invited RWMs and Past Masters, and a piper in full regalia, guests providing music, song, and poetry. The refreshments to invited top table guests were free and a most enjoyable evening was had by all. As I was performing I was blessed with the roaring laughter of the guests, the best sound you can hear as a speaker/comedienne. I was thanked for my performance and asked by a few of the Masons from other lodges if they could take my details. I was very flattered and of course agreed.
