DM Hall Chartered Surveyors

I purchased a property on the back of a Home Report by DMHall in Hamilton - all 1s and no mention of any issue relating to damp, moisture or issues with condensation. I moved into the property to find the eaves of the loft space are riddled with black mould. This was completely missed by the surveyor. I raised a complaint and it was investigated (they sent one of their own out to look at it). They deemed it acceptable that the issue wasnt spotted by the original surveyor. Judge from the photos if you think thats reasonable. Buyers - avoid like the plague, sellers - think twice about putting yourself in a position where your buyer isnt happy after moving in. Update: DM Hall have replied to this review to say the will not comment as it the case is in "existing correspondence". I'm not sure what that means, but to be clear, the last communication I received from DM Hall on 4th February (2 months ago) ended with "In conclusion, I would strongly reject any suggestion of negligence and I would confirm that the report is wholly in line with what would be expected of the average Surveyor acting with ordinary skill and care. I trust that the above is self-explanatory and clearly sets out my position in this matter." There has been no further correspondence between us.

don't trust dm hall,I purchased a home that had survey done by them and survey come back with all 1s on report.on moving into home we realised that most window seals were broke back and front door had no seals,french doors no seals and all letting in water.ensuit no cold running water also burst pipe behind a wall,damp from burst pipe in electric cupboard,burst pipes outside building.dm hall from Hamilton come out to have a look and report stated this was all cosmetic.IM SURE LAST OWNER GAVE A BACK HANDER FOR ALL 1S ON REPORT.
