Haddington Post Office

Sort office for collection is only open 8 am to 10am even tho staff are in . useless

today my wife came back in tears from haddington post office because this was her fifth visit to try and direct mail from our old flat to our new house, my wife is head of services for a charity working with vulnerable people. and as such has been on the front line of covid from the start of the pandemic she is a very busy lady and does not have such time to waste on jobsworths, the way that the manager has spoken to her and treated her is offensive to me. they make the rules up as they go along in that post office, they do not seem to understand that most transactions, bill payments ect are carried out online these days so this means that people do not have paper bills like we did years ago, yet they continually ask for paper copies of everything, its time that they moved into the 21st century like everyone else has had to do, highlights the need for much training, it is a terrible service and i would not personally use it but unfortunately have no choice as there is no alternative. the manager thinks that she is always right even when she is wrong, does not listen, and always has to have the last word, in other words, a control freak.my wife is Polish and I think the staff have a jealous small town racist attitude AND SHOULD BE REPLACED BY STAFF THAT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

A question,why are you closing at 15.00,what difference would it make adhering to your normal hours.Closing early is doing nothing but inconveniencing the general public.

went in to purchase gas with my meter card, the shop assistant made a mistake with my payment and when I questioned the mistake she took an attitude towards me as if to say " how dare you question me". The manager who was standing gossiping with another shop assistant, while customers were standing outside in the rain, kept staring across at me with an equally angry look on her face, she looks quite nasty ,and all the staff seem to think that they are superior to the customers. They are ok with you until you challenge them, then you see the real nasty side of them coming out. I also work on the covid-19 front line like my polish friend and it really irks me to see these people that have nice safe jobs behind screens with limited customers allowed in to the premises, treat people so badly, they should try and work on the frontline and then they might learn how to treat people instead of taking advantage of the pandemic to gain some undeserved authority and being deliberately slow and rude to customers, like so many others I would not use this horrible service but for the fact i have no choice.
