After contacting Motability to see what they would say, I was told to contact RAC. To cut a long story short, I was told under no circumstances should I drive my vehicle, it was extremely dangerous, as the wheel baring was away and that is what the sound was. That amongst other issues, including brakes, that Haddington had supposedly fitted only a few months prior.
Angry is an understatement at the way I have been treated by this garage. The only recommendation I would give, is to avoid at all costs.
And yes I will be taking this matter further.

The arrogant and very unfriendly lady at the reception of the garage wanted to turn us away directly with the reference to the fact that there would be free appointments only in October again. But if you are just passing through and have to catch the ferry home in a few hours, this is not very helpful.
After a longer discussion with the request to measure only shortly the voltage at the battery she spoke with a man in the next room but they did not have 5 minutes to take a quick look at the problem. We were told to try somewhere else and we were not helped!
I have been to the UK many times and to Scotland but I have never experienced such unfriendliness and arrogance. We were in an emergency situation and they didn't have 5 minutes to look at the problem. Ultimately, they were able to help us in another garage and the error could be diagnosed in less than 5 minutes and we still reached the ferry in time.
If this store also behaves with the local customers so it surprises me very much that they are not yet bankrupt!
