Treat your staff and elderly better. So many people I encounter keep complaining of what a bad experience they have. Work less on appearance and more with facts! Also stop the internal wars of gossips, gaslighting and throwing mud on peoples reputations..

My dad was a resident on the ground floor at Muirfield from November 2021 until his death in May 2022. As a family we were delighted with the care he received and we were very touched, as his end drew near, that one of his carers, Stacie, came in on her day off to "deal with paperwork" and popped into his room to check on him. Towards his end, dad interacted more with Stacie than he did with the family; she was fantastic with him and also with us, bringing us coffees (dad strength!) and she and some of her colleagues attended his funeral, bringing along an item that we thought had been lost in the home's laundry. As a family we couldn't fault anything about the care my dad received; anniversaries were celebrated and he was treated as an individual.

I wouldn't put your elderly in this home. It is extremely badly managed and understaffed. The elderly are not looked after properly or given the medication they require on a timely basis. My Mother had an awful experience.

I started my care career here, at first it was a great environment but it quickly went sour. Training was so inadequate that at times it felt like the blind leading the blind. Management used a combination of gaslighting, gossip and guilt tripping to keep people in line. I started in mid 2021, tailend of the pandemic, I experienced first hand how fast COVID could spread, despite adequate PPE, the spread was not well managed, often there was no clear guidance, agency staff were mixed in terms of training, often not fully understanding tasks. During one outbreak I had to remind several agency carers to change their PPE when entering and exiting the rooms of residents who tested positive. They still failed to listen, in cases where staff informed management that they felt unwell yet were told unless they tested positive they were expected to keep working. The agency in question was not adequately training their staff and was renowned across many care homes for poor performance yet this care home continued to request their services despite multiple complaints from staff. They expected you to only take a maximum of 20 minutes assisting each resident with each meal even if they were classed as a choke risk, any concerns raised about such matters were dismissed. I loved the staff and Residents I worked with but sadly I can no longer hold my silence.
