Alan recently restored my 1967 Gretsch Chet Atkins Country Gentleman and then put it on sale in his shop. He is a gifted Luthier and the photographs he posted on his website acurately illustrated the binding problems that this model suffered from in the '60s and the restoration work he carried out to stabilise it so that a prospective customer was aware of the problem. He is a meticulous guy when it comes to being up front about a guitar's condition. The guitar sold recently for the asking price and I have no hesitation in recommending Alan's business. Im the other end of the country from the shop but I saw they had a vintage guitar that Id been after for a while .a few emails and a couple of very relaxed phone calls later and its on my lap as Im typing this . Traded in an old fender against it and it felt like a really fair deal with no pressure
