Another great service done by Roddy. A full service was done on my wife's bike which needed a few new parts and is like a new bike. My race bike need a few bearings replaced in the hub of my wheels to get me ready for my race in a few weeks time. Each time I take my bike down to Portbikes I feel my bike gets faster every time. Thank you.

I was planning to write that Rod at Port Bikes had restored my faith in bicycle mechanics, but actually, recalling the last half dozen experiences both my girlfriend and I have had with other local bike shops, I think it's more likely he's a (very welcome) completely unique individual. It was so refreshing to engage with somebody who ticks every box you're looking for when you need someone to work on your bikes. He's very professional, highly skilled and exudes the honesty and integrity most bike shops sorely lack, and exceptional value for money too: doubly so, considering the extra level of service provided. I have a bike that had been taken for servicing at 2x big-brand bike shops and had been returned with a hefty invoice both times, but still the gears werent working properly. Rod at Port Bikes collected the bike, diagnosed the problems correctly, addressed all of them, some with new parts and some by properly servicing and refurbishing the original parts, and then charged a price that was more than fair for all the work that had been done. Im delighted to have found a bike mechanic that I can trust and am looking forward to having Rob look after by bikes from now on.
