Following a smell of dampness in one of the rooms in my house I arranged a consultation with Mark Patrick of Peter Cox Ltd. Mark was able to assure me that the cause of the damp smell was asscoiated with lack of air circulation and provided comprehensive advice on how to improve matters. Following this advice has resulted in elimination of the damp smell. I was particularly impressed that Mark did not attempt at any time to push a costly solution and in the time he took to explain the science behind dampness and the practical measures I could adopt to eradicate the dampness.

I have absolutely nothing good to say about my experience with Peter Cox and a very long list of complaints. As they are a large national company I thought I would be best going with them over a local firm, however that was a very wrong decision. I was due to have damp proofing done on my property predicted to take 2-3 days. The whole saga ended up taking over 4 weeks and they still didnt finish the work that had been agreed. In the end I had to contract someone else to finish the work they were incapable of organising. Ive never experienced such dreadful customer service, they very clearly do not care about their customer even slightly. I drafted up a lengthy complaint letter documenting all their failures which they didnt even acknowledge. A year later I get an email asking for me to settle the bill or it will be handed over to a third party! The cheek, the office had billed me the full amount not subtracting the works that they never actually completed, and with no offer of a discount for the pitiful service. I responded asking for the bill to be revised and I was offered a paltry 165 gesture of goodwill! To cap it all off I was finally given my guarantee but the dates were incorrect and I was not willing to take any chances in allowing them to nullify the guarantee at a later date because of that. I asked for the dates to be amended and 5 weeks later still no guarantee. After emailing for an update I was helpfully told that it has to be done at the local Glasgow branch and that an email had been sent, no apology for the delay, no offer to chase it up. Nothing. I phoned head office myself and the person on the other end of the line altered it there and then. The whole process has been an absolute headache, there has been no customer care from the moment they received my deposit until the very end which was over a year later. Their branch manager, Colin McKinley, doesnt seem to care about the quality of service offered, and has extremely poor customer service skills as do the other support staff. They have apparently being go through an internal restructure' to improve there services, well I would suggest that it has failed miserably. Absolutely horrific company. Please do yourself a favour and look elsewhere because chances are you will regret it just like myself and all the other reviewers.
