We sadly, recently lost our lovely, much loved Mum, after her living the latter part of her life in Silverburn Care Home. It is of huge comfort to us to know that Mum passed away so peacefully, in a place with which she was familiar, cared for by staff who knew her and her ways so well, and who cared for her as if she was truly one of their own . It had broken our hearts when it became evident that the time had came that 24 hour care was required for Mum, and after an initial horrendous experience with an assessment home, we were really apprehensive of what would be available. However we honestly could not have found a more wonderful home for her. From the first visit we made to view its facilities and speak with the manager ,we knew it was the right place for her . The home is extremely well run and the staff are all a great team. We would like to specifically mention all the staff on the dementia 'Murdoch' ward where Mum was cared for. The nursing and care staff on every single level are so genuinely caring, thoughtful, kind, and understanding, whilst all the time remaining professional, but with a lovely bit of banter thrown in, that we know Mum really enjoyed. She loved the food which was of excellent standard , as well as all the activities and entertainment which so much work obviously went into . Not once did we have the slightest concern about Mums care . We absolutely 100% recommend Silverburn Care Home for anyone who is going through the stressful time of trying to select the right care home for their loved one . Thank you all so much for everything you did for Mum .We will never forget your kindness.
