Shocking experience - I was just looking to engage and get some costs - I received the following response when they came back nearly double what others lawyers quoted. We had a fairly terrible experience in relation to an educational department complaint. Start out fine, called up and was advised someone would call us back. They called back very quickly, within about 30 minutes. The man on the phone seemed ok. Gave some basic advice. Said we would have to meet up and asked for a bunch of documents, such as for our ability to pay the fees etc. We did this online and he advised he would come out on a Monday. The email we received was "Thank you I will be in touch to confirm time for meeting on Monday, 5:30pm at your home should be fine for me." We replied saying this was fine, and we would see him then. My husband took (unpaid) time off from work for it because to was important to him, as our child has additional support needs. I hadn't heard back from the lawyers and called at 12:30pm to check what was happening. Then we called back again at 1:45pm.We were advised that we would get someone to call back. I also emailed. I didn't get a hold of anyone until I got the person at 3pm when I called back again. I just said who I was and that what time I could expect them, then he started huffing and saying "I didn't say I was coming to your house." I then read out his email, then he snapped at me that he was "very busy." That he doesn't usually do "house calls". And then he said he "didn't know if we were coming out to his office or if we expected him to come to the house." I said ok, then said we could come to him if that was easier as my husband was going to the dentist. He snapped again that he was "busy." He then hung up on me, to which I gave him the benefit of the doubt and thought that maybe it was an accident and his phone might have disconnected him and I waited for him to call back. Nothing. I mean, I hadn't even raised my voice or been rude in any way, so it seemed strange that he would just "hang up." My husband was standing next to me during the call and was utterly unimpressed with his attitude as he was standing next to me the whole time. I then forwarded the appointment message back to him saying :"this is what we recieved" and the only response we got was an extremely rude "I will be unable to assist." No apology, nothing else. So we have had our time utterly wasted, and have had to find another solicitor, which was luckily quite easy to do. Its really been a blessing in disguise because I would rather have had this happen now than once we had forked out thousands, but its still mildly inconvienient. But I strongly recommend people avoid this place as much as possible. Go somewhere else to assist you. If they were "too busy" they could have simply said this in the first place.
