I've felt a real sense of history and peace here each time I've visited. The snow helped most recently, doesn't happen often and rarely settles when it does. A stone's through from Linn park too, which is always worth a visit - and again, especially when it snows :)

I love trees. I love views. Unfortunately the trees here block the views over the city. Mary would've seen hee haw. Still, worth a visit. Take your imagination.

It's not necessarily maintained at all, but this is a nice spot. Supposedly where Queen Mary watched the battle of Langside, but you'd be lucky to see anything through the trees now. It's nicely wild, without maintained lawns etc., which I like, but a bench or two would be great...
