I spent my life as a teenager living at the Springburn Fire Station. My father was D.O. William Moore (a "snowdrop") who was seconded to the London Blitz, and a recruit to the Scottish Fire Service in the 1940s. My fondest memories were of late night returns to the fire station in the early mornings after a Saturday night and having to go through the Watch Room to gain entrance to our flat. My father drove a black Austin A35 with blue lights on the roof and was once stopped by the Glasgow Police on his way to a Council Meeting for having unauthorised attachments to a private vehicle. Best Wishes to you all from Australia. Bill Moore
