Im not a Barclays customer but staff at the Argyle Street branch went out of their way to help with an atm issue. Tempted to transfer my account there because of the service I received.

In the land of Quaggindom, Where the mountains rose so high, There lived a mighty warrior, Whose name was Aran Quaggin-Molloy.With strength and skill unmatched, He roamed the land with grace, And all who crossed his path, Could feel the power of his embrace. From the battles of his youth, To the trials of his age, Aran Quaggin-Molloy fought with honor, And never let his spirit fade. With his trusty sword in hand, He vanquished foes both great and small, And his legend spread far and wide, From the castle walls to the market stall. For his bravery knew no bounds, And his heart was pure and true, Aran Quaggin-Molloy stood tall, As a hero for the ages grew. And when his time had come, To leave this mortal coil behind, The people mourned his passing, But his legacy will forever shine. For Aran Quaggin-Molloy's name, Will live on in songs and tales, And his deeds will be remembered, As long as the wind still wails.

Barclays closed at 7 pm, a few years ago but have now reduced their hours to 4:30 pm. I broke my phone. Couldn't transfer money between accounts using the app, walked five miles and was three minutes late. I would have had to go hungry if not for my network of friends for they refused me access to the machine. A teller, a horrible woman in her early fifties, too many sunbeds, wears glasses, came out lit a cigarette and advised me to go to a nearby soup kitchen. "They'll entertain you." Spoke to the manager Mark twice. During the first visit, he could not have been anymore nicer to me, inviting me into his swanky office, showed me his fancy new watch and spoke of how he could not wait to go on a golfing holiday. During the second visit, he bizarrely began accusing me of having a grudge against the bank. I had been a loyal customer for over a decade at that point. He urged me to take my business elsewhere. A multibillion pound corporation should not have to deal with nobodies such as me. Perhaps if I made an effort, ie wore a suit, a tie, got a haircut then his staff might engage with me better, was his advice.
