I went recently and didn't see the sign that it was closed until I had turned back. I drove through the gardens to the car park so managed to see some and it was absolutely beautiful. I'm giving it 5 stars as a man who lived/worked there approached us soon after we got there to let us know it was in fact closed. He couldn't have been more pleasant and understanding and we were grateful as we felt a bit silly missing a big 'closed' sign! Will definitely be going back when it opens again in May.

It's a really beautiful place, a bit of a shame about them planting leylandii around the estate house as it is a lovely building however can understand them wanting more privacy as it is lived in. The walled gardens are lovely and have a lot of good opportunities to take good photographs, particularly during the time the Cherry Blossoms are out.

The garden is opened to the public during May this probably when it looks its best as it is mainly rhododendron and azaleas with some fine mature trees. Also cherry trees covered in blossoms. A lovely peaceful garden to enjoy a picnic. There are no toilet facilities. Go before you go!!
