Balkissock Lodge

Balkissock Lodge was a lucky find and quite possibly the loveliest B&B we have ever visited - at the end of our stay we did not want to leave at all! Cordelia and Howard are wonderful and attentive hosts who just happen to be the nicest people as well. You can really see the care and dedication that they put into their B&B and I am so glad we stayed a couple of days instead of moving on after just one or two nights. The rooms are well-sized, nicely decorated and had just been renovated, same goes for the guest lounge / breakfast room. Speaking of breakfast, the menu is fabulous and there was always a good selection of fruit in addition to any cooked breakfast one could wish for. The food was locally-sourced and delicious - our cheese and salmon plate was the perfect way of capping off our stay. Both Cordelia and Howard were always super friendly and had plenty of good tips and suggestions for the area - but this truly does not cover how super NICE they are. Plus, there are pupper Maisy and two kitties who form the welcome committee - what could you want more? If you happen to visit the region and want a few days to unwind and relax, this place is perfect.
