Acorn carpentrty

Dominic and Mick recently fitted our new kitchen and they did an excellent job! We were a bit nervous about getting work done with Covid restrictions, but the guys were brilliant, wore masks and socially distanced etc. Dominic was always happy to help and make suggestions when we had ideas, nothing was a problem. Communication was great, always kept us posted, and tied in with the other tradesmen involved. Cracking lads, will definitely be using Acorn carpentry again in the future!

Dom came to fit 4 internal doors and rehang and fit surround for a cupboard door. The doors were difficult sizes so needed cutting down and he offered various solutions, he ended up modifying them and did an excellent job. Dom was always punctual, tidy, communication was excellent and quoted a fair price. I was a bit nervous about having tradesman in during lockdown but Dom wore a mask and respected social distancing the whole time. I would thoroughly recommend Dom and will be using him in future.

We can fully recommend Dominic based on the carpentry work that he has done for us. He repaired our stained glass door and part of our storm door. His work was high quality and he was reliable, punctual and polite and in our case although the job needed to change slightly the price remained the same. Weve already recommended him to friends and neighbours.

I came across Acorn Carpentry when I needed someone to replace a broken external door. Dominic came out promptly to view the task and gave me a price by email a few days later. Although somewhat more expensive than I expected, I was able to accept it. He did not offer a conventional written contract but I felt confident that, if there were any problems, he would readily put matters right. He came on the days that he said he would with the good news that he had been able to source a cheaper door blank and so had reduced the cost of my job accordingly. The work went well and they finished the installation in the one day promised, leaving.an unpainted wooden door. About a week later, the door started to catch in one corner. I contacted Dominic and he came back (on a Sunday!) and shaved the edge of the door down to suit. He advised that the problem had been the swelling of the wood since a paint coat had not ben applied at that stage. The door now works fine. I can recommend Acorn Carpentry for any carpentry work you might have.

We used Dominic after he fitted some new doors for us and took great care in fitting them, helping us with choosing the right ones as well as the handles. So when it came to our kitchen we really were looking for someone we trusted and who could also help with some choices. We looked at a couple of different companies and Dominic offered his advice but never pressuring us into one or the other. Having decided on the kitchen cabinets we were not overly enamoured with the worktops and again Dominic suggested a different company who had exactly what we wanted. He also helped us choose our wall covering, not wanting tiles but wanting something which really worked with the kitchen. Again Dominic had the answer. Now, our house is older and there is not a straight wall in the house but again Dominic took the time during the installation to make sure everything we as good as it could be and we love our new kitchen. We were so confident with him we went on holiday whilst he ripped out and installed out new kitchen, including organising all the appliance to be installed, plumbing and laying a new floor. I cannot believe the change and have now used Dominic to install a loft ladder and hatch and will be using him to refurbish my mother's kitchen. I have been so pleased with the work I have recommended him to my friends. Cannot recommend him highly enough and if you need a joiner in Glasgow I would thoroughly recommend acorn carpentry and Dominic.
