I was diagnosed with cancer just over a year ago. Chemotherapy unfortunately was not successful. On three occasions I have phoned the practice with distressing symtoms. On each occasion the treatment I have received has exceeded expectations. The reception staff were so helpful and the doctors responded quickly and effectively. As a retired doctor I can say with total confidence that this is an excellent practice.

Was the criteria for the reception staff just to be as dismissive, unsympathetic, and least understanding as possible? You would think working in a GP surgery where you receive phone calls on all manners of sensitive subjects that the staff handling the phones would have learnt how to manage people with compassion and even an ounce of kindness. It would be great if patients who are seeking medical support could actually receive that instead of just being made to feel stupid by an obviously ill-suited receptionist. Just see the rest of the reviews for reference. I suggest finding staff whos instinct is to be kind as opposed to condescending.

Hate phoning them; reception staff are dismissive and unhelpful and rarely pull up your record before deciding on an appropriate course of action. Their priority seems to be getting you off the phone ASAP and triaging as if we're still in 2020 and peak Covid. It's always a fight to get the medical attention you need. Unless, of course, you make enough of a fuss, at which point things miraculously become possible.
