I spent a couple of weeks in August 2019 doing an internship at CRRU and I could not recommend it enough. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. I learned so much in these two weeks and really hope to go back at some point! It was an incredible experience to see the research being done first hand. We saw many bottlenose dolphins and some minke whales too! If you're passionate about cetaceans and want to learn more about them in the field, you should definitely look into doing an internship here!

The previous two years I have spent working with CRRU have easily been the most valuable, not to mention fun :D The two week courses are enjoyable and provide trainees an insight into the research that has been ongoing for the last 22 years! The experiences are truly incredible and days on the boat provide the perfect opportunities to bring you face to face with some of the coastline's most treasured beasties! Would 100% recommend.

Dr Kevin Robinson and his team has allowed me to experience how the life of a scientist is equally incredibly amazing as it is challenging at times. My passion for cetaceans lead to me to apply for the two week program in this beautiful part of Scotland, the Moray Firth. One learns about how to collect vital data to further protect the animals in this area but also gets to enjoy the animals in their habitat - mostly from a boat. The accommodation in a small fishing village is a wonderful cottage and the office, a few minutes down the road, has the most amazing view onto the ocean. This is also where the actual data analysis is done - all of which is taught during the two weeks -. I enjoyed the team spirit tremendously; quizz nights at the local pub, game nights in the house as well as the daily communal dinners made it feel like spending time with old friends. Thank you Kev (& Ciaran and Elice) for creating such an atmosphere and allowing us to be part of the incredible work you and the team are doing. (Photo credit CRRU)

Done the 12 day course last year and I really enjoyed everyday I was there. If you want a taste of marine mammals research I would highly recommend doing this as you get to see how research on a small boat would be conducted. The work done up there is really interesting and even though we weren't the luckiest with weather it was still a good laugh.
