Kingsknowes Hotel

I booked Sunday lunch by phone. Recorded voice, leave name and phone number and we will call back, which he did. I booked a table for 2pm. We duly arrived and no record of the booking could be found. However, we were given a table and ordered starters and mains. After some 40 minutes the mains arrived. We pointed out that we hadnt had starters! In the end we passed on the starters. My roast beef was ok, however, the roast potatoes were hard and the Yorkshire pudding soggy. A dreadful dining experience, especially as two years ago we stayed in the hotel and everything was perfect. Faulty Towers looked very well run/organised compared with this shambolic episode.

This is a beautiful building, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The quality of food at breakfast and dinner was outstanding. There is so much venturing to be done around the borders, it's lovely to know that you can you come back to some delicious food and relax in one of the bars. Our room was really comfortable and everything was so clean. Parking is really easy on site as well, making it a perfect stay. Highly recommend!
