Crookston House B&B

I've just had the luck of spending four nights in this Hotel with a group of friends visiting the area as part of a shoot. Everything about Crookstone House is excellent. Firstly the hosts Giorgina and Malcolm are hands down some of the nicest and most welcoming people i've met, always ready to serve and please, always catering to your every need and very flexible. Everything is done with a smile on their face and they make this house feel like a home. The pictures don't lie, the house looks great and the rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious. The linens are high quality and so are the towels. Our hosts accepted our request to also serve us diner every night, on top of the usual breakfast only meal, which was fantastic. The food was excellent, locally sourced and served in a wonderful dining room. The drawing room is cozy and can fit large groups around the fire place, which in winter after a long day of shooting is where you want to be. Seldom are the words which can describe this place, once you try it you are hooked. We booked next year on the spot, and thank god for that! Thanks again to our hosts for putting so much effort in our comfort, memories made in this house will not go away any time soon. Regards, Maxence

2 night stay with the family at Crookston. Warmest welcome from friendly hosts. Immaculately clean en-suite room. Huge and Very comfortable light filled room with thick mattresses and luxurious bedding. Wonderful artisan foods on offer for breakfast. Great location for edinburgh and surrounding areas. Crookston House is by far the best place we have stayed in the UK. Georgina and Malcolm were the perfect hosts and couldn't do enough for us. The house and grounds were stunning. We felt we were being invited in, not only into someone's home but, to share and experience a piece of history. The whole place is beautiful, fascinating and so relaxing. We had the Yew Tree bedroom which was fantastic. We also had access to the downstairs rooms and after a day of hiking and sightseeing was a lovely way to relax with a glass of wine surrounded by family portraits and so much history.

We have just returned from a three night break at Crookston House and had an absolutely wonderful time. Georgina and Malcolm are so welcoming and make you feel completely relaxed and at home. Breakfasts with home made treats were absolutely delicious and all their advice and help with places to visit was fantastic. We travelled by train to Edinburgh from Gorebridge for the day which was only half a hour journey and a great day out. We also spent a day exploring the beautiful towns in the Borders. Crookston House is a stunning country house in a fabulous location. Our room with a view had a lovely large en-suite bathroom and very comfy beds. Do not hesitate to book it!
