Myself, my partner and pup stayed at this camp site for 1 night. On arrival it was very friendly and we were told dogs were welcome as the owner had 5 labs of their own. However we were constantly harassed by the dogs trying to get into our camper van then out of nowhere the pack of labs chased after our puppy who was on its lead and tried to attack her. Because of this she managed to get out of her harness and ran away up a hill and into the woods. We were so lucky we were able to convince her to come back as she was very frightened. Twice the owners dog tried to attack our pup and only then did she put them inside. This was something she found amusing. Because of this our pup who is an absolute pleasure and loves to play would not leave the van and cowered in the footwell. We were unable to enjoy the scenery and sit outside the van as she wouldnt come out due to one of the labs harassing us. To top matter off we were told the breakfast was included in the 40 per night stay, they did not mention that breakfast was toast! Following the disappointing breakfast we decided to have a shower then pack up all I can say is make sure you have some crocks with you because the bathroom was filthy. All in all I wouldnt recommend this camp site which is a shame because the views and walls are apparently beautiful which we were unable to enjoy due to the pack of dogs roaming.

Be very careful !! The owner is a liar. After being told it was 20 per person and per night, we kindly declined. telling us that we couldnt go any further as it wasnt allowed to wild camp. He told us he was a park ranger and showed us a piece of paper on the wall (I couldnt read it) and then proceeded to show us a hand drawn map to explain that everything from just before his campsite (very convenient) to the end of Loch Lomond was off limit for us. When we questioned this (because we had seen the official map) he became agressive and warned us he would be on duty starting at 10pm, that there would be drones with infrared cameras that could detect our tent. He warned us that the fine for non compliance was 500. He is NOT a park ranger and this is false information and he basically scared us into staying at his campsite. This is very inappropriate and only confirms the bad reviews.

This is based on my stay here; others may have different experiences. I'm comparing this to around 60 campsites I have used across the UK including 3 on this same week, so would like to think this is as objective as possible. Reasonably shambolic experience @ 20 to camp per person at the time (regardless of group size) & little to back up the high price. host /manager/owner only explanation for cost was you get a free breakfast. Would insist that campers should pay in cash or at least everyone I could see who arrived/paid after myself. Myself and other guests were repeatedly asked if we wanted to order food from the kitchen. As far as I know nobody did. Just people asking to fill up water. The site does look reasonably well with a nice faade and interior but fails to get a few very basic things right. Management needs to listen of the other reviews on here rather than getting defensive, just needs a few tweaks & could be great!! The Breakfast - Cheapest of the cheapest items like Smart Price ready oats, Budget white bread, unhealthy cheap pre-packaged croissants, cereal bars, donuts, unappealing looking fruit bowl, no cooked/decent quality food at all. I understand the need to save costs but it was just terrible. There should be a cheaper price for people who dont want breakfast, it's not something most people want when camping. Also, the host should provide a side map & tent tag like most places do & if the site really wants to serve guests food why not hand out a menu with this on arrival also? No such items were provided Facilities - -Dirty Toilets and shower rooms & insufficient for size of site (as mentioned by others also) -No obvious outdoor tap for drinking/washing up water (Only -mason jars with water inside) -Nowhere to wash up camping cooking gear or at least we weren't shown this - but I looked around the whole building. -There were dogs fouling on/around the tent pitches from the resident unrestrained dog/s (mentioned by others also) - Dogs barking frequently throughout the night - For example when someone would walk to the toilets - Car park almost full during offseason / Non-school holidays (Also mentioned by other reviewers) - The only bin I could see in close proximity to the camping area was tiny Great location & a lot of potential just needs a bit of work then it could be a really good place. Noteworthy details: Good Location
