The Old Byre Fort William

If you want a remote quiet getaway (minus the welcome noise of sheep/cows) this then is the place for you! Underfloor heating in all rooms and an endless supply of logs meant you were always toasty even on the wettest and windiest of the highlands winters. Good location if you wanted to climb Ben Nevis and fort william shops are only a short drive away(M&S, Morrisons etc) Lots of little extra touches all around the place. I would highly recommend The Old Byre

We booked The Old Byre for my 40th in November when we realised New York was a no-go due to Covid and we absolutely loved our stay. The cottage is beautiful and has everything needed for a relaxing break (the box of treats and birthday card was a nice touch too). Its in the middle of nowhere which is just what we wanted, but not too remote to be able to get a taxi into Fort William when you want to leave the car and have a few drinks (tip, taxi prices massively differed, call around). The location is ideal to explore some of the best of the Highlands, we day-tripped to Glenfinnan, Oban, Glencoe, Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, Mallaig and Arisaig whilst there. I fell in love with Scotland on our visit and intend to visit many more areas, however, next time Im in Fort William, I will definitely look to stay here.
