Walkability: This is in a great location with a walk just beside it where these pictures were taken in the evening. It's a very dramatic area and is prone to a lot of rain. Thankfully having these and the other 2 properties lower down to stay in for a holiday means that while many walkers and visitors have come from quite a distance and get drenched when exploring, these properties make an excellent base that's only minutes away from great scenery. If you're out and get caught in the rain then it's not too long to travel back, change clothes and set off on another adventure. It's only about 10 to 15 minutes away from the location used in the film 007 Skyfall.

Where to begin? Strath Lodge is absolutely immaculate and well-situated on a lush country road that's within easy walking distance of Glencoe ViIlage. Dawn is a warm and gracious host. She knows the area well and offered lots of good advice on selecting hiking and running trails, local restaurants and pubs, and how to make the best porridge on the planet! The breakfasts were exceptional in quality and generosity of servings. We kept it simple, but the full Scottish breakfasts looked delicious. And let's not neglect to mention Meg, a delightful border collie (as if there is any other kind...)
