Highwinds Bed and Breakfast

Absolutely fantastic stay!! Liz and Kenny (hosts) were brilliant, going out of went their way to make sure everything was perfect for our stay, great communication throughout (recommending places to eat and things to do). Room was immaculate as well as an outstanding breakfast (cooked and continental). Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area, we will definitely be back!

The building and location are both fine, although the breakfast is a rip-off, but the real problem here is the female owner: she was aggressive and unpleasant. She seems to be one of those (thankfully rare) sanctimonious B&B owners who believe they are doing guests some sort of massive favour by taking their money. So if you want to get sneered at and shouted at on arrival then this is the place for you.

My wife and I had a great stay at Highwinds B&B. Liz was a fantastic host, she was warm and friendly and met us on arrival. I was pleased that she had social distancing and hand sanitiser in place which immediately put my pregnant wife at ease. When Liz showed us to the room it was large, spacious and very clean. The bathroom was also to a high specification which is great to see as in some B&B and hotels this is where attention to detail usually falls down but not here. The views from the B&B were picturesque. Whether it was the neighbours award winning cows or the beautiful horses across the road we were fully submerged in the beauty of Fortwilliam. However, it is call Highwinds for a reason so make sure your prepared for the Highlands summer. Whether it was the Highlands fresh air or the king size bed with Egyptian cotton we both slept like a log. Breakfast had some great options and definitely catered for everyone especially those with dietary requirements. My wife is fairly picky when it comes to breakfast so her being pregnant I thought she would struggle but due to the options avaliable my wife settled for some good old tattie scones, mushrooms and scrabble egg while I had a full Scottish breakfast with all the trimmings. Overall we had a great stay which surpassed our expectations for a B&B. Definitely worth a stay.
