I really recommend using Roof Toop Campers if youre thinking of doing the NC500! Booking was extremely straight forward and all email enquiries were answered very quickly. The van and everything inside is in great condition and the layout was thought through very carefully to optimise space. Bens handover was very detailed and he showed us how everything worked. I loved that he checked in via text over the trip to see if everything was going well. Nothing was too much trouble for these guys! Great value and a wonderful experience!

My girlfriend and I were lucky enough to have Macdui for a week on Skye, and we cannot rate the adventure it enabled us to have highly enough. This was our first experience with a a rooftop camper, and we were very impressed. The roof tent is such a good idea, and we were very surprised by just how much space is available, so it can be used for much more than just sleeping, but also a comfortable area to hangout in when the midges inevitably get too bad to be outside - seriously, you could play twister up there! And its elevated position means you get a much better view than those inferior ground dwelling campers. I couldnt help but feel a bit smug watching the expressions on peoples faces as they walked by and admired our accommodation. As well as the great view it offers, with all of the windows zipped closed, its actually pitch black inside, meaning youll get a great nights sleep and not be woken with the 4am sunrise! We spent most of our week at the Glen Brittle campsite, with the roof tent permanently erected, but one day did fancy seeing another part of the island - it took literally a couple of minutes to pack up the roof tent, and drive off, it really isnt a faff! As for the rest of the van, well thats perfectly set up too. The little kitchenette was more than adequate for the catering we did, and having the onboard fridge was a definite bonus that we would not have done without. Because there was only two of us, there was oodles of space, even though we didnt skimp on the gear we brought with us. And although never used, it was good to know we had the option of using the rock-n-roll bed inside the van if we wanted to be a bit more subtle and not set the roof tent up. And the driving experience? Well IMO its as nippy as car, which combined with the fact its an automatic, really does make it stress free to drive with the inevitable start-stop nature of single track roads in the wilder parts of Scotland. And finally a big shout out to the owner Ben for coming to our aid at such short notice when our original transport fell through. You should deffo check these guys out.

We had the best week with Macdui (or big blue as we coined her). Ben has thought of everything from an aeropress to board games, a really well equipped kitchen, along with a super easy, and concise hand over. We loved sleeping on top of the van in the tent, which is incredibly spacious and really quick and simple to set up and pack away. Great size for the 2 of us as we did our version of the NC500! Can't recommend enough, big thank you!

Just had a week on the north coast 500. We hired a camper van from Rooftop Campers in Forres. The reception we received from the hire company was brilliant. We were given a full rundown of the operation of the the roof top tent and the interior of the van on how everything worked. The trip was great we were given ideas of where to park and recommend campsites to stay on. Just a big thank you to Ben and Faye for making our trip easy and memorable.
