There is soo much to do and kids just have a ball. I love that you can take your own picnic as many outdoor places restrict that but you can make it a full day out and not spend an arm and a leg. I do recommend Welly boots for whole family and kids to wear waterproofs because it can get muddy in some areas.

Great place for young kids and grannies, where they can walk around and see a variety of mostly native birds and animals. Public bus service from Forfar. More space in the cafe too. Currently building a safe toddler nature play area.

This was our second activity at Murton Farm and it was excellent. The kids really enjoyed the experience and were very happy with their wooden makes. The farm has a small, but good selection of animals with plenty of information posters about the animals. We loved the ferrets and pigs. There's a good play area with activities for all. And the cafe is always worth a visit, we love trying the different traybakes they make It's a great day out in the warmer weather, but if it's wet it gets muddy, so dress for the weather as there are no specific pathways, just grass to walk on.

A great place for a walk, not strenuous, and a fine tea room for a bite to eat
