Boisdale Cottage Findhorn

Staying at Boisdale Cottage in Findhorn was the highlight of our road trip around Scotland. The cottage itself is fabulous and the location is right in the heart of the village - easy to walk to the beach, pub and shops. Our kids Lewis & Lucy loved the fact that they had their very own room, and a lovely garden to play in. The hosts Clare & Andy were great when arranging our booking and ensured we had everything we needed for a fantastic stay. We will be back!!!

Many attractions in the immediate vicinity and then such a lovingly furnished house and such nice landlords. The house is ideal for two families with up to 4 children. Everything is lovingly furnished and of high quality. Nothing is really missing here. Thank you Andy for such a great place to stay! We'll definitely be back. (Original) Wir waren das zweite mal hier. Mehr Schottland geht aus unserer Sicht nicht. Ein Strand wie gemalt. Natur pur. Viele Attraktionen in unmittelbarer Nhe und dann ein so liebevoll eingerichtetes Haus und so nette Vermieter. Das Haus eignet sich hervorragend fr zwei Familien mit bis zu 4 Kindern. Alles ist liebevoll und hochwertig eingerichtet. Hier fehlt wirklich nichts. Danke Andy fr eine so tolle Unterkunft! Wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

We had a magical week at Boisdale Cottage in August this year, and feel so lucky that we were able to enjoy this special week with best friends. Our party was 3 couples and our young children (ages 2-6). The cottage was so perfectly comfortable and spacious. While children relaxed and played and watched cartoons in the living room, the adults often gathered round the kitchen island, catching up with a glass of wine, and preparing dinner to be enjoyed either outside on the picnic bench or at the long dining table. We enjoyed making real pizza, too - an Ooni oven is provided and they make the whole experience a simple pleasure! Sourcing food was a joy! There are two lovely shops just along the road. One of them is deli-style, serving barista coffee, alongside lots of 'plastic free' foods, ethically sourced vegetables. I was told, 'we don't fly anything to reduce our carbon footprint and we've been that way since the 1960s'. The shop also serves ready-to-eat dishes and pastries - perfect for picnics or no-cook lunches. On sunny days, the children were kept amused for hours on the garden trampoline and in the children's summer house kitchen. On cooler nights we lit the dining room fire, and enjoyed a dram while listening to music - the house has a wireless speaker so no need to bring your own. Beyond the cottage is, of course, enchanting Findhorn. We were a stones-throw from the famous Kimberly Inn, and we enjoyed several nights watching the sunset from their waterfront benches and dining table. The beaches themselves are also just a short walk away, so there were plenty of perfect 'coastal holiday' moments that rivalled any destination abroad. Picnics, building sandcastles, crabbing, sunbathing, long walks, sea swimming, water taxi around the bay, fish and chips and ice creams - this holiday really had it all and has given us precious memories. Again, our experience was made all the better by the 'home from home' feel of Boisdale, and we hope to return time and again. xo
