Glenkinchie Distillery

My tour was conducted by Pascal. He s helpful and can share whatever about the making of whisky. We were walked thru different stages of whisky making and of course smell it, taste it and overall enjoy it. Definitely a must visit from my point of view. The tour is far better than the whisky experience tour next to the Edinburgh castle

Highly recommended to take a tour including a whiskey tasting. Not only taste more exclusive whiskeys, but learn a lot about certain types of whiskey as well. Tourguide Kirsty is awesome, aside from the standard information she knows very well how to dive into the areas you want to know more about.

A visit to Glenkinchie Distillery owned by Diageo was a combination of entertainment and knowledge. The lowland home of Jonnie Walker provides excellent service and in detail descriptions of the plant in the tours. The heavy fruity-sweet standard bottle of Glenkinchie whisky is 12 years old matured with a greasy texture which is an indication of lowland whisky. This is the only distillery in this region which has wood fermenters. The energy source of the distillery: Gas-fired boiler

The distillery is situated in the Haddington. It's easily reachable. You need to book the tickets prior. As a student I got a discount of 10% , I booked the ticket two days prior. It's fast filling. The tour experience includes 3 sample tasting, and a cocktail. The tour guide Nicole was an amazing man. He was smooth going and has wide knowledge about the distillery. They also sell wide range of products. Do try picking your hand of some limited cask strength whiskey. They even have the wonderful meadows garden and floral gardening. I can assure you that your overall experience will be a worth. Every employee was super friendly and approachable. Never to forget they even have a cosy and really fancy bar. You can enjoy yourself in with the food facilities as well
