Halfords - Falkirk

The service I received whilst buying a new bike for my daughter was excellent. The member of staff who served me was Matthew. He was very knowledgeable about the bike and the accessories. I also purchased a bike carrier for my car and again he was very knowledgeable and make sure it was the correct carrier for my car. He was extremely pleasant and there was no pressure to purchase any items. He is a credit to the Falkirk branch of Halfords.

My local bike shop shut down. I decided to go to Halfords to change two tyres keeping the inner tubes and having them changed in the shop. After waiting half an hour whilst a silly women held the one and only staff member in the bike departments ear. I eventually get his attention and he tells me I will need to wait 3 hrs to change the tyres. I waited. I won't use this shop again. It was 14 per tyre ( bit expensive for these tyres) and 20 for the tyres to be changed. 10 each tyre. This is expensive compared to other local shops which charge 10 for both tyres to be changed. (usually, if there is a puncture or something). So, 50 for two inner tubes to be changed. Yes, ill repeat that. 50 for two inner tubes to be changed on a standard bike. Halfords only has one staff member, it appears, and with high prices and long waiting times, I can see this company going into administration soon. And, these are some of the reasons why.
