Callendar estates have put a bit of work into the trails recently, they've fixed some of the berms and sorted out the flow on some of the trails, enjoy.

Great place to go for MTB family day. Good cafe on site and parking is free.

Honestly, Canada Wood is one of my favourite places in the world and I feel lucky to have it in my back yard. I walk my dog there most days and litter pick it a couple of times per month. I have also used the cycle trails, ran around the pathways and use Cafe @ Canada Wood on a regular basis. Easily as valuable to the community as the Helix Park and the Wheel - at least it should be. That said, I can't believe that they think it will be wise to bring parking charges in at the Green Rig car park. 2.50 for anything over a half hour is an own goal as people will either go elsewhere or abandon their cars by the roadside close to the trails. This will also have an impact on the trade at the cafe for sure as I have seen large groups of cyclists go for refreshment after a meeting - now they'll likely park elsewhere. It'll also impact my litter picking activity as in winter I don't always want to walk up there, pick and walk back again. I certainly won't be paying to park and if it weren't for its proximity to my house, I would look for somewhere else. They say it is to help upgrade the facilities and maintain the paths, but I'm just not sure that is true. I've never seen any maintainance crew there in the 4 years that I have been using the space and the one time a tractor did come through last year, it mowed the saplings by the path down and scattered the plastic cases everywhere - it took ages to pick it up. Without the parking charges, this would be a 5 star review. If you want to charge people for upgraded facilities, upgrade facilities first to make them want to come.
