Bought a car from Elgin Fiat Arnold Clark and have had a horrendous experience - only positive was getting the car. Travelled to purchase a car and friendly sales staff took us through the usual process. Having been promised the service history via email and it to be ready upon our arrival, turned up to find out there was none except for one done by themselves. However, it genuinely took about 6 times of asking both sales guy and his boss to get a straight answer. Despite that we liked the car so went ahead with purchase. When driving home we noticed multiple scratches on the windscreen and thought that it would be a simple fix once raised with Arnold Clark. Wow we were wrong! After numerous calls, emails to both the local branch and Arnold Clark Customer Service along with sending pictures of evidence, we finally received a response essentially calling me a liar and they will not fix the issue. Very insulting to be accused of lying over scratches on a windscreen. In all honesty, if I had caused them myself then I would get it fixed - I felt like paying such a large amount for a car that they would be able to fix it with no qualms. Certainly did not expect to be accused of lying. Very insulting considering a colleague of mine had a similar issue with a different branch and got it fixed no problem. Arnold Clark stated that it looks like the scratches were caused by myself when I have time stamped photos as soon as we arrived home the same day after purchasing the vehicle. After this experience I will now be actively dissuading friends, family and colleagues from using any Arnold Clark services in the future. Certainly living up to shady car sales stereotype which is incredibly disappointing.
