Chasing The Moon Skye

An excellent location for exploring the north of Skye being only a short drive from The Old Man of Storr and The Quiraing. We also ventured south and visited Point of Sleat beach; well worth the trek to get there. The house is secluded and provides a great view of The Brother's Point with Rona, Raasay, and the mainland visible on a clear day. The walk to Brother's Point is on the doorstep and blew the cobwebs away! The information pack provided prior to arrival was very useful and the house itself was comfortable for our party of 5 and 2 dogs. Thank you for the welcome goodies for both adults and the dogs!

What an amazing place to stay! Dont look any further! That was an ultimate Skye experience for us! It is a very secluded cottage with incredible views, and very close to the most iconic Skyes hikes - The Old Man of Storr and Quirang. The cottage itself is amazing. Very comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen, and even a bottle of wine and cookies as a welcoming gift! It is very well worth the price!

We were a group of 5 people a long time ago, at the end of November 2019 and summing it up a lot, I can only say that this place deserves another 5 extra stars. I'm sorry that over time I don't remember the name of the host who was waiting to open us, but he was wonderful and super nice, I still remember that we had to look for a large stone that had been painted white next to the road , go down the road and then you came across this wonderful cottage. What can I say... the impressive, spectacular views, it was a real delight. What I really liked is that practically everything was made of wood. The very complete kitchen was full of movies in case you wanted to spend the night watching one of them on television, even a game console. The very comfortable sofas, apart from the bathroom that each room had, there was another extra next to the large living room (all open, the sofa area with the fireplace, the dining room and the kitchen). The mattresses on the bed were of good quality, super, super comfortable, with plenty of room to hang your clothes when opening the suitcase, one of the rooms had a super nice Victorian-style bathtub in the same room that also left a open space that led to the dining room and I forgot to mention that there was a table outside if you wanted to enjoy the morning breeze. Of course you can go with several vehicles that there is plenty of room and they are also dog friendly. To add other details, it's about half an hour from Portree, very close to the Old Man of Storr... Come on, to top it off, it's very well located. We enjoyed the experience so much that as the next day was free, we ended up staying one more day at the last minute. Little more to say thank you very much! Estuvimos un grupo de 5 personas hace tiempo, a finales de Noviembre de 2019 y resumindolo mucho solo puedo decir que este sitio se merece otras 5 estrellas extra. Me sabe fatal que con el paso del tiempo no recuerdo el nombre del anfitrin que estaba a la espera para abrirnos, pero fue majsimo y super agradable, todava recuerdo que tuvimos que buscar una piedra grande que haba pintada de color de blanco al lado la carretera, entrar por el camino y entonces te encontrabas con ese maravilloso cottage. Que puedo decir... las vistas impresionantes, espectaculares, era una autntica delicia. Lo que me gust mucho es que prcticamente todo era de madera. La cocina completsima, estaba lleno de pelculas por si queras pasar la noche viendo una de ellas en la televisin, incluso una videoconsola. Los sofs comodsimos, a parte del bao del que dispona cada habitacin haba otro extra al lado del gran saln (todo difano, la zona de los sofs con la chimenea, el comedor y la cocina). Los colchones de la cama se notaba que eran de buena de calidad, sper, sper cmodas, con mucho sitio para colgar tu ropa al abrir la maleta, uno de los cuartos tena en el mismo cuarto una baera estilo victoriano super bonita que adems dejaba un espacio abierto que daba al comedor y se me olvidaba mencionar que haba mesa fuera por si queras disfrutar de la brisa matutina. Por supuesto podis ir con varios vehculos que hay sitio de sobra y adems son dog friendly. Por aadir otros detalles, est como a media hora de portree, muy cerca del Old man of Storr... Vamos que para rematar est muy bien situado. Disfrutamos tanto la experiencia que como justo el da siguiente estaba libre acabamos a ltima hora quedndonos un da mas. Poco ms que decir mil gracias!!

We had the most INCREDIBLE stay at Chasing The Moon. Its secluded location is the perfect place to properly unwind and relax. From the amazing vantage point above the bay, you can sit for hours and hours just watching the weather roll in and the seasons change all in a day! The house is immaculately clean, the beds were beyond comfortable, we had everything we needed and more. We so appreciated the little homely touches provided by Maggie for our party, it just added to the experience. Going a long walk down to Brothers Point then getting back up to a cosy log burning fire and THAT BATH, it was perfect. Whilst we stayed, we also went on a boat trip from Skye Boat Trips. We went for the Portree Harbour tour which was out of this world, the wildlife and the scenery were nothing wed ever experienced before. We also took a number of trips into Portree which was only a short drive away and had all of the amenities we could need (especially a nice pint)! On our final night we visited the Edinbane Lodge, which is around a 35/40 minute drive from the house - beyond worth it! We opted to get a taxi from Gus Taxis, one of Maggies recommendations, so we could enjoy the wine. Again, the service was impeccable. The experience at Edinbane was fabulous. The food was sublime and the wine to match! If I could give the experience 100/10 I absolutely would. It was such a lovely holiday had, such a precious chance to get together with family in an idyllic setting. I cannot wait until I return to Chasing The Moon - which I absolutely will - and Ill be sure to tell everyone I know to do the same! Thanks Maggie and Co!
