I was able to take nice photos on this staircase.         A popular photo spot and great views down over Edinburgh and close to Waverly station. The climb is quite steep although there is quite a few flat spaces for a rest and these stairs are quite wide so even when busy does allow a bit of room to move. Beware there may be lots of people stopped for taking pictures however so progress may be slower than expected.
