        Despite knowing that it goes off at one o'clock and despite knowing that it is an artillery gun, this bang still makes me jump to this day. I reccommend settling down below the battery in Princes' Street Gardens to enjoy the short show. Even a couple hundred metres away, the sound fully punches through you and can be quite a shock! Great little tradition to behold if you're in the right place at the right time.
