Yummy in my tummy at Ting Thai Caravan First time experiencing Thai food in a buzzing and cool shop just right by McEwan Hall. The restaurant serves Thai street food. Nice selection of menus. Dishes were well presented. staff are friendly. The venue is not big so you expect to share table in the canteen style. Overall great experience

I had a very negative experience here which was very disappointing. Went in around half 5, plenty of time to eat and pay up before our train home. The atmosphere is very casual. We were sat at high stools facing a window. Service was good at first, we were quickly able to order and get our drinks. We decided to go for a starter and a main. One main was served in a box - very casual style dining. I was very much looking forward to my food. Because we were sat in front of the window, we could see a steady stream of Deliveroo and UberEats drivers taking orders. Probably saw about 7-8 in the space of 20 minutes. I thought this may lead to a delay in our food as the takeaway orders tend to be prioritised - this wasn't a problem at first. After 30 minutes we still didn't have our starter. There was no acknowledgement from the staff that we had been waiting. After 40 minutes we started to get restless - I don't appreciate not being communicated to about the wait but not wanting to put pressure on the wait staff we left it. 45 minutes in, a couple wandered in and sat next to us. We were shocked to see that their food arrived 10 minutes after they ordered. I was very irritated at this point. We were told that the ticket order must have been mixed up. Given we waited 50 minutes for a starter at a casual dining place without any communication from the wait staff we then had to leave as we would probably have not made our train. It was clear that the takeaway orders were being prioritised above the sit-in customers. However, once the people next to us got their food within 10 minutes that was really the straw that broke the camel's back. Extremely disappointing experience.
