Last Monday I came to print some documents. For reasons unknown to me, the printer was not working properly and there were a couple of people waiting to print while the woman was attending me. With the situation somewhat stressful the woman ended up printing one of the documents I had osked double-sided with only half of the document and the other half blank, something I initially didn't notice. When I got home I realised the mistake and simply put it down to the fact that due to the stressful and busy situation the mistake had been made (something that can happen). Today I decided to go and print the document correctly and also print another document that I asked as well and never got printed. I simply mentioned what happened not with the intention of getting anything but to give them the sheets that I wasn't going to use in case they found it useful. The woman immediately became defensive, saying that it was my mistake for not checking it at the time and that she only printed what appeared. "Dear madam, I only mentioned it in case you wanted to keep the sheets. At no point did I mention that I was upset as I understand that you were having problems with the printer that day and added to the people arriving there was a busy and stressful situation where mistakes happen, we are all human. Instead of immediately getting defensive, admitting the mistake and simply reprinting the document which I would have paid for without a problem would have shown more professionalism and above all politeness on your part. I suggest you look up the word humility in the dictionary and study it. " Thank you
