If you're traipsing around the city all day dragging little ones along to look at castles and historical monuments, then this park is the biggest blessing. The other fabulous park is in the Meadows (to the south side of the city), so it just depends where you're walking and when you need a rest. This one has spectacular views of the castle, which I very much appreciated. One review said the equipment is a little run down, which happens in any busy city park. It's not so run down that it's dangerous, and for a tired kiddo, any new park is a source of excitement!

The park is very run down, considering how close it is to the main street of the capital city. The park is not gated so dogs are free to come up into the park and sniff your toddler. My child had fun but was absolutely filthy and it is very mucky. The money gained from the fringe and hogmanay is not spent on this playpark. The toilets are better than expected and the fountain is beautiful just the playpark is a total disappointment.

Decent enough playground, since there aren't that many in Edinburgh. No picnic benches but it does have regular benches.

This park is situated in beautiful surroundings but the playpark itself is a complete shambles,to be honest its needing removed & replaced with more cool stuff for younger & older kids. For the money that Edinburgh takes in all year round the Edinburgh council or whoever runs the park should really up their game because its really quite poor effort on this playpark. Sorry for the poor review but Im only being honest.
