Bart was great, really informative and his explanations helped me to understand the process and helped me to create soap dishes and bowls that are fantastic additions to my home and saved 226g of plastic! Bart was super friendly and gently chatty and was also understanding of me having a disability!

We had a great time making soap dishes and plant pots out of recycled plastic. At the end of the session Bart showed us how much plastic we had used - over 200 milk bottle caps!

I had so much fun at DOBA studio seeing how plastic is recycled and making a comb and soap dish with the recycling plastic - this really is amazing and so innovative and I will definitely be back!

Great workshop that I found and booked via Eventbrite - an introductory session to making cool stuff with molten recycled plastic. We had a bit of background on different plastics and then the opportunity to make our own combs, soap dishes and plant pots - my son was especially pleased with the comb results - using different bottle tops to create a marbled effect. This is a great workshop for kids into climate/ sustainability issues or who just like making cool stuff on cool machines or maybe for friends interested in doing something a little bit magical and entertaining for a few hours. Bart is a great teacher - open, friendly and who was happy to answer my many questions. Top tip - come into the Arts Building and then take the lift to the studio - this can be found on the left hand side of the foyer but is slightly hidden from view.
