Being raised Christian, in my adult life I lean toward a more inclusive view of worship - one which encourages respect, understanding, and love for all things - as per the teachings of the Bible. Having spoken to several of their representatives, it is clear that the worship practiced here is not a great example of that, and their message is one of monotone bigotry, misogyny, and outdated 'opinion'.

Members of this church approached me with flyers and proceed to produce some particularly concerning views around minority communities and women who chose to make their own decisions about their bodies. Given the state of the world right now, the last thing people need is a stranger coming to the entrance to their space (that should feel safe) and telling them how awful they are. Not what the church represents at all.

In this day and age, people should be allowed to live how they want to, love who they want to and do, to their body, what they choose to. I honestly believe nothing would be Jesus or Mary or God happier. Spend your time and energy focusing on true good, instead of wasting your time hating everyone who lives a different way to you.

I appreciated many good things about this church but when others in the congregation told me that The gospel "is not an offer", I started to discover what they really believe. I could see for myself throughout the Bible that forgiveness of sin is for whosoever will, but I found they believe: -When The Bible says "whosoever", the ends of the earth, or anything similar, it means only means "the elect". -That God commands everyone to repent - but only "the elect" can and will do so (and they can not do otherwise). -That regeneration is separate from conversion and typically occurring during infant sprinkling will, if the person is elect, lead to conversion at some point later in life. -That before we were born, God determines which of us are elect and Jesus didn't die for the remainder and they can't be saved. This is a subtle but devestating corruption of God's word. They try to explain away any verse that implies choice, but Peter tells us to make your calling and election sure 2 Peter 1:10, and Jesus says He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life (John 3:36) - ie election depends on belief, but at this chuch they have it the other way round. - That God does not want everyone to hear the Gospel but only the elect as the rest are already lost and this is set in stone. Satan must love Calvin. - In infant sprinkling instead of believer's baptism by immersion. In my opinion they hold the murderer (search for calvin burned servetus corner), John Calvin of Geneva, to be a higher authority that The Bible. They hold to what they call the regulative principle which sounds great, but in practice they apply it selectively and ignore other plain Scriptural commands. There is much more and it makes me sad to think of genuine believers in this church being deceived with these damnable heresies. Elect means chosen and is easy to understand if we remember that God, unlike us, is over time and election is according to foreknowledge and that we are saved or chosen through faith and that faith comes by hearing. Yes we need light to believe but see John 1:9 . . the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. God is all powerful and could have made us all robots but didn't - he tells us to choose who we will serve - ie has not made us as robots but gives us a choice. How can they believe that God wants a robo-church. We should get our doctrine from prayerful reading of the Bible not from man. Jesus says: - Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30 - "And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life." (He doesn't say "ye cannot come." - ie we have a choice.) - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:16-17 - Whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. Revelation 22:17. Don't let the Calvinists explain these promises away. The Gospel is for whosoever - and that includes you.
