After moving from Fountainbridge to Murrayfield I was so disappointed to find out the process for registering with local practices in Edinburgh however Murrayfield Medical Practice were very welcoming and I got registered with no problems. All my dealings with the reception staff, nurses and doctors at the practice have been pleasant and efficient. Some of the other reviews on here are shocking. People should really remember "BE KIND" before leaving scathing personal reviews. Remember these receptionists are just trying to do their job best they can within the parameters sets by the practice and NHS.

Most of the staff, nurses and GPs are nice and welcoming. However, we have encountered a receptionist who really treated us very bad! we were 8 minutes late to our appointment and we apologized for that, but she kept scolding us for being late, and because we were in a hurry we didn't wear face masks, she was like: Can't you read what is written on the signs! That would have been OK if I didn't see the next patient coming without face mask and she didn't even talked to her. I really felt like she is being unfair!

NHS Murrayfield practice GP's and nurses are all very welcoming. However, there is a specific receptionist whose name is Anna who has been treating myself unfairly since I've registered with them. I am allergic to certain antibiotics such as penicillin and amoxicilin. RiE doctor prescribed penicillin (although I highlighted my allergy.) My mistake was that I did not check the leaflet before I took the tablets. My body turned blue,it was full of rush, itsyness, burning and I was desperate for cortisone tablets or an epipen as I found it so difficult to breath. I phoned the practice and she refused to hear me out. She kept on saying that there was no available GP appointment left and encouraged me to phone them in the following day. She showed no respect, empathy, sympathy or any other sort of emotion. Earlier on, I called in for asking a backdated sick note. Before she even let me complete my sentence, she denied to put me in to their system for speaking with the GP. This is the second occassion tbst I ve been treated badly. This is unfair and disrespectful. I feel that there are no other avenues to speak to GP about my issue.
