After an initial mix up with the booking, the engineer (Kyle) turned up on the correct day in the appointed time-frame and was very helpful and friendly. He got on with the job & duly installed a new boiler and associated parts. There were some problems with air in the system but on leaving all was working. Unfortunately, the air problem re-occurred but he returned the following morning to rectify and 6 days in , everything is working as it should. Everything was left clean & tidy. Shout out also to Steph in the office who was very prompt and efficient in sorting out some Admin problems. I have also used this company over several years for annual servicing on the previous boiler . Service: Heating system installation

I would give no star if the system allows! Edinburgh Boiler Company (EBC) installed my Worcester Bosch system boiler in 2019 and had been doing the aftercare (Complete Care package) since, but I have finally recognised my misplaced trust in EBC over the past 4 years and cancelled the aftercare package with them! A few examples are given here to illustrate their poor quality of work and lack of professionalism. A tundish was agreed at the boiler survey to be installed closed to the pressure release valve of the boiler to allow early identification of overflow. This was not installed with the boiler. I enquired about that with the engineer installing the boiler and the senior engineer who came out a few days later to sign off the installation, but both said the tundish was not needed. 1 month later another EBC senior engineer attended for a repair call and confirmed a tundish was required and should have been installed. He did return to install the tundish. The electrician who attended to sort the thermostat issues on another visit (after 2 brand new thermostats were installed) left the control front plate badly fitted which fell off after he left the property. He did return promptly to sort it. Looking back, I really should have seen these issues with the initial boiler installation as big red flags but I was slow to admit problems and other red flags with EBC. (I really tried to support local companies and was too patience with EBCs short comings!) Almost every maintenance/repair jobs since required multiple visits to sort/rectify. Once an engineer ordered the part for the wrong boiler type despite he was on site and had seen the boiler when he ordered the part and that EBC installed the boiler (i.e. poor record keeping and attention to details)! He only realised his mistake when he returned to fit the part so more time wasted waiting for the correct part to arrive and another engineer visit to install. This was highly disruptive to a busy professionals schedule. Their aftercare can be provided either by EBC engineers or their sister companys (Heatfix) engineers. For a leaking radiator, the engineers initial suggestion was to simply tighten the valves connections and hoped for the best. When I informed him I was a Complete Care customer and asked if the valves could be changed instead, he was reluctant. After being persistence on my part, he then told me he would need to give a quote to EBC to approve before he could order the parts and install. (That was definitely news to me!) He did return and changed the valves and admitted tightening the valves connections would not have solved the leaks! The final catalyst to make me see their poor quality of work and lack of professionalism came when the Deputy Install Manager attended a repair call on the water cylinder, he recommended some repair work which was not doable by the engineer they sent (apparently they could not drain the water cylinder)! The Deputy Install Manager then recommended a complete new install when he was off site and previously had not mentioned even once this was required! And I did ask EBC in 2019 if the water cylinder should be upgraded with the boiler and they categorically said no at the time as the installation was fine. They had also successfully replaced one set of valves on the cylinder previous and had no issue draining the cylinder. When I asked for a detailed quote of the proposed new water cylinder installation, a quote consisted of 3 lines appeared. That spoke volume about their lack of attention to details and really did not instil trust on their proposed work leaving plenty of room to add extras. I chose to support local companies but sadly EBC could not deliver acceptable quality, professionalism, and reliability. I have accepted I was slow to see my mistake in trusting EBC. Please learn from my mistakes and do not appoint EBC for any boiler, heating, or plumbing work! I most definite would tell my friends and families to avoid them and would not even subject my worst enemy to EBC!
