I have to defend Corson. He is not so rude as he is made out to be. He was perfectly polite to me and had what I wanted. Stockbridge is an upmarket area and if the shop was modernised it would be a great success. I went past today 17/12/20 and the shop was deserted and appeared desolate. There is still a market for this sort of specialist shop just take a look at Marchmont and Morningside so Mr Corson should hang up his grey coat and let someone enthusiastic take over.

The shop front is filthy, it looks neglected and everything in the window faded. How the owner of this business can find this acceptable is beyond me. The shop keeper doesnt appear to enjoy running a business and that is reflected in the look of the place. Its sad because Stockbridge really needs a well run hardware store and this could be it with a bit more attention.

Got a good deal on a hand plane once, another time i broke a pan handle and that was the closest shop to get new pan. Great shop and i do not expect hardware shop to be sparkling clean with lots of useless stuff. Also i do not consider people answering laconically necessarily rude.
