There are better cv workshops on the market. I got a fresh graduate they appointed as my "mentor". Made a right mess of my CV collection, recombing 5 of them back in to one for some odd reason. Must have been 6-8 weeks it took, of me going down the job center 9am in the coldest months of winter. Not very knowledgeable or helpful in her field neither. Had to keep reporting back to superiors, as she did not seem to know what she was doing. It was a rather disconcerting experience. Was not happy with the service and told them so. Then my supposed mentor told me that if I did not apologise to her - for sharing my opinion - she would with-hold the college course funding they had promised: "up to 500", what ever that means. I made an official complaint, but despite the fact that they had promised to respond as soon as possible, they never did! Obviously not an organisation which is a fan of constructive criticism. Bribing consensus through with-holding an unemployed persons college funding, is a new low to me. Were a useful agency back in the 1990s. Obviously gave way to market forces and use agency staff now.
