Appalling confrontational customer service Appalling customer service from a manager I believe called Helen. Went in for a click and collect. Not asked for any reference or receipt at the till. Had applied a discount online of 30%. When it came to pay, this was not applied. That is fine in itself, mistakes happen. The reaction by the member of staff was not. In a condescending tone sir you have to tell me before I go to the till that you have a discount. How on earth could you expect a) a customer to know that b) for it to be normal in e-commerce for a voucher applied and discounted online to have be quoted again in store. It didnt end there Can I see your order. I showed her my email confirmation with price and discount code quoted - That email means nothing to me sir. She then proceeded to lecture me on how I had failed to understand their system. This was altogether an unnecessarily arduous and unpleasant experience which left a sour taste. The individual involved was highly unprofessional and this is the first time I have ever complained about an individual member of staff at an organisation. Usually gooutdoors are so helpful but I was shocked by this behaviour from a manager. When there was a queue of 4 of 5 people she also left her till to go and pet a customers dog. I am writing this review as feedback and I hope it is addressed so future customers dont have the same experience

Awful store management, I traveled about 90 miles to this store today to buy a new tent, I picked one I liked after a great member of the team helped me pick one to meet my needs and budget, I decided to give the tent a quick google before buying and found the same tent more than half price on a different website. I asked if they would price match which they happily said yes, the store manger was called over to authorise the sale, the store manager then went on to claim the website I was looking at was fake and accused me of setting it up, refusing me the sale and then threatened to report me to head office after I said I was going to raise the issue with them, he failed to even look at the website I found the tent on and would not explain why he thought the website was fake, he clearly came across to me that he simply did not want to honour the price match policy that go outdoors has. I found the manager arrogant rude and simply impossible to talk to, he simply would not listen to any question I had and was more interested in belittling me as much he could in a shop full of customers and staff. Avoid this store at all costs unless you want a Karen diners experience.
