Can't acquire any help from them. Had a call recently and turns out they aren't really capable of advising on anything... I know they are helping people who are detained in facilities so... as to a basic citizen not much of a help. They said they can attend an appointment with you but an advocacy service used to have legal knowlege where here this doesn't exist.

Consistantly hand out wrong advice. Also many services like Shelter direct you here, but in reality you would need referred by a social worker (who are part of Edinburgh Council) or something along those lines. After being advised to, I approached them many times about housing issues, and they offer no help at all. Just redirect you to the next person down the line who is equally of no use what so ever. Send you round in perpetual circles like their other partners: to Shelter, EARs, Bureau Advice, SLAB, CLAO, and then back around again! They love to say no, but you are really better off without. Like other reviewers have stated, they are not independent, funded by the very institutions you need help building a legal defense to deal with, more often than not. If they are independent as they claim, please tell us how you are funded by responding to this review. Having your "voice heard" is your legal entitlement, and if they did what they claim to do, then there would be no need to seek legal proceedings in any place. Sure many people are aware, finding a defence lawyer in a legal aid case dealing with civil matters, is like finding a needle in a hay stack, as the legal aid board will pick and choose what tasks it pays a lawyer to do to the states advantage. It is why our institutions are accountable to no one, apart from the affluent. If you want your voice heard invest in a megaphone, and don't waste your tiime here.

Very positive experience of using this service and couldn't have managed to navigate through issues without their help. I recommend using their services if you are facing any issues within mental health services. I can't thank this service enough.

Don't go near this organisation, I attempted suicide a few times and they couldn't care less, they fob you off and Don't listen to you, a disgrace to be called a charity, they won't go against people that fund them and keep them in a job
