My go-to guitar store in Edinburgh with an old fashioned, good-vibe feel, staffed by knowledgeable and friendly guys and gals. They stock a great range of guitars and other musical instruments and accessories and don't bug you when you are auditioning an instrument. For me, it's always satisfying to look after a small but tried and trusted neighborhood store. I've bought many a guitar from here even when (in 2 cases) I could've got it cheaper online. Nothing beats trying out an actual instrument and interacting face to face. If you are after an instrument and value good customer service and that personal touch, then drop into Scayles Music.

Had my beloved bouzouki given a proper tune up here and wow did these guys do a fantastic job. It's like a completely new instrument - they totally eliminated the fret buzz issue I was having, perfected the intonation despite me previously giving up hope that it could ever be fixed, and fixed my string action as well as giving the instrument the best polish and tlc it's ever had. Can't recommend their set-up service enough!

Go here. Play an acoustic guitar while having into the alcove of acoustic guitars. Listen to them sing back to you. Then buy one!

Sorry but bad service. The guys in the shop are really nice I will point out. But an obvious communication problem and no communication between me and luthier.. The nut was in not perfect but not awful shape before as I had mentioned handing it in. I also said what tuning I wanted, and when recieved back its now just completely stripped smooth and plus given back in the wrong tuning. So yup, won't be back.
